Vista “Look and Feel” with Aero features

 

Windows Button – Lower left corner

·        “Start Search” – input box at bottom of left column, useful for programs

·        “Search” Option – Middle of right-hand column, useful to find files, folders, programs, etc.

·        Options List on right-hand column – no more “fly-out” menus.  Explorer type window displayed.

 

Photo Gallery

·        View in : Thumbnails (photo only), Thumbnails with text (photo with some text), Tiles (Photo with complete “Properties” information)

·        Tags: Each photo can have more than one “tag”, i.e. date of photo, location of photo, people in it, etc.

You can search by “tag” to find photos that qualify.

·        Enlarge or shrink photos using magnifying glass at bottom of window.

·        “Slide Show” feature – Button at center-bottom of window.

 

Aero Graphics

·        Greater clarity of image, like an HDTV television showing a high-definition program.

·        3-D like appearance, especially noticeable in games (show examples)

·        Transparency of some images or portions of windows, i.e. Sidebar images, window headers

·        Ability to set transparency (opacity) of sidebar “gadgets”

·        Manage multiple windows with:

o       Alt-Tab, showing live icons, to use in switching between running application

o       Windows-Tab, showing large live “icons” in 3-D like appearance, to use in switching applications.

o        “Switch Windows” icon in the Quick Launch Bar (bottom of screen)
